
Nathanial C. Humphrey, better known as Nate, was born and raised in Owensboro, Kentucky, and has deep roots in Western Kentucky. Nate graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Arts in History, earning Magna Cum Laude honors and completing the University Honors Program. While at Murray State, he was an active member of Alpha Tau Omega holding positions such as Secretary, Alumni Relations, and Vice President, and earning awards for both scholarship and community service. While at Murray, Nate spent a summer in Washington, D.C., where he interned for Congressman Brett Guthrie in the United States House of Representatives.
Nate went on to attend Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, where he earned his Juris Doctorate cum laude. During law school, he served as a law clerk for the Office of the Kentucky Attorney General and spent two years clerking for Dietz Family Law PLLC, gaining extensive experience in complex family law matters, litigation preparation, and client advocacy. At Chase, Nate received multiple CALI Awards, including recognition for excellence in Criminal Law and Family Law Mediation.
Nate is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He focuses his practice on family law and estate planning, and he is passionate about serving families throughout Western Kentucky. Having grown up in this region and later choosing to return here to practice, Nate is committed to giving back to the communities that shaped him. He is also honored to hold the title of Kentucky Colonel, the Commonwealth’s highest civilian distinction.
Outside of the office, Nate is an avid sports fan. He rarely misses a Notre Dame football game, whether on television or in person in South Bend. Nate also proudly supports the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoys attending concerts, following professional wrestling (especially AEW), and traveling. Nate’s goal in life is to visit all 50 states and all 7 continents. Most of all, Nate loves to relax and spend time with his white boxer dog, Waylon, and his two red-eared slider turtles, Pancho and Lefty
